Coogee Scavenge
15th March 2015
The first Seaside Scavenge went down a treat on Coogee's North Headland. We had a sweet set-up with the markets and tunes. We were treated to the sounds of Bill Ellwood and Alex Gibson - thank you guys! And thanks to all you incredible folk that managed to haul in 207 bottle caps, 46 coffee cups, 84 straws along with 146 cigarette butts. Well done!!

Alex Gibson joined us down at the Seaside Scavenge. His haunting vocals and unique style have seen Alex establish a loyal fan base, with two successful independent national tours in 2013 and 2014. Describing his music as a “mix between Folk, Soul, Blues, Jazz and Rock,” Alex cites Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles among his musical influences. www.alexgibsonmusic.com

William Ellwood is a young guitarist and singer hailing from Boorowa NSW. With an energetic and fresh playing style Billy will tantalise your senses with silky sounds influenced by the likes of Hendrix, John Mayer and Gary Clarke Jnr. He's quickly gaining a strong YouTube following with his original cover versions of some old favorites, so check him out. Billy is definitely an act to look out for in 2015! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh0aqAXnBmo&feature=youtu.be

Alaska are a soulful and soothing two piece art-pop group joining us from rural NSW. With a gentle and endearing vocal tone, the voice of Alexis Hay combines with the experimental musical works of Jack Ellwood to create an exciting and relaxing atmosphere to melt all your worries away. Featuring electronic drum sounds, psychedelic reverberant guitar and mellow female vocals, you’re sure to enjoy the sounds of Alaska.
