Wollongong Scavenge

12th March 2016

The Scavenge's debut in Wollongong was definitely a good one. We set up just off the sand under a beautiful blue sky. A diverse crew of Sydney-siders and Wollongians came together to make it happen. We had 72 sets of hands come and pick up 93.7kg of beach litter including everything from feather bowers to CDs and pipeline. Thanks to Tangaroa Blue and Surfrider Illawara for making their way down. The beautiful talents of Emily Duncan, Chris Mott, Rawrie and Jordan blended harmoniously to draw peoples attention. Connie's Café jumped on board to offer 20% discounts to all scavengers that had their coffees and lunch eat-in! And thanks to Skydive Australia and GotWood Bamboo Toothbrushes for donating prizes to get people picking up!
